Spring 2001

Mike Orthober

Our spring Gallery features the artwork of taxidermist Mike Orthober of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. Well known for his fish taxidermy, which won him a World Title in 1997, Orthober is equally talented in bird and mammal taxidermy. He has earned the National Taxidermists Association Award of Excellence, winning National Champion in fish in 1992, and North American Champion in 1996. He has also won five WASCO Awards, attesting to the artistry of his work. For the past three years, Orthober has devoted much of his time in completing a commissioned natural history exhibit for the Door County Historical Museum in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
