IN SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY, AMERICAN green-winged teals (Anas crecca carolinensis) are located in the wildfowl subfamily of Anatinae in the tribe Anatini in the genus Anas (Latin for duck), known as dabbling ducks, which consists of the most colorful of waterfowl species.
