RED OR CAPE HARTEBEESTS ARE found in Namibia, Botswana, the Cape, and Gauteng provinces of South Africa. Seven subspecies have been listed, with one of the seven extinct, the Bubal hartebeest. All of the other subspecies are native to central or north Africa.
